What Are The Structural Components Of The Injection Mold?

What Are The Structural Components Of The Injection Mold?

1. Formed parts

The parts that give shape, structure and size to the forming materials are usually composed of core (punch), cavity of concave mold, thread core, insert, etc.

2. Gating system

It is the channel that leads the molten plastic from the injector nozzle to the closed mold cavity. It is usually composed of the main runner, the splitter, the gate and the cold charging well.

3. Guide components

In order to ensure the accurate alignment of the moving die and the fixed die when they are closed, the guide component is set to guide and position. It is composed of guide pillar and guide sleeve. Some molds are also set with guide components on the ejector plate to ensure the smooth and reliable movement of the demoulding mechanism.

4. Demoulding mechanism

Devices for demoulding plastic parts and gating systems have many structural forms. The most commonly used demoulding mechanisms are ejector rod, pipe jacking, roof and pneumatic ejection, which are generally composed of ejector rod, reset rod, slingshot, ejector rod fixing plate, roof (top ring) and roof guide post/sleeve.

5. Core pulling mechanism

For plastic parts with side holes or side recesses, lateral core pulling or sliding block separation (lateral parting) must be carried out before ejection.

6. Mold temperature regulating system

In order to meet the requirements of the injection molding process on the mold temperature, a mold temperature regulating system (such as cooling water, hot water, hot oil and electric heating system) is required to regulate the mold temperature.

7. Exhaust system

In order to discharge the gas in the mold cavity smoothly, an exhaust slot is often set at the parting surface of the mold. The clearance between the push rod or other moving parts (such as the slider) of many molds can also play the role of exhaust.

8. Other structural parts

Parts set to meet the requirements of mold structure (such as fixed plate, movable/fixed template, stay head, support plate and connecting screws).

Eight Common Injection Mold Structure Classification

Eight common injection mold structure classification One. Single parting surface injection mold When the mold is opened, the movable mold and the fixed mold are separated, so as to take out the plastic parts, which is called single parting surface mold, also called double-plate mold. It is the simplest and most basic form of injection mold, which can be designed as single-cavity injection mold or multi-cavity injection mold according to the need, and is the

The Difference Between Injection Moulds And Plastic Moulds

The difference between injection moulds and plastic moulds Many people can’t tell the difference between injection molds and plastic molds, and many people even think that they are the same kind of molds, just called different. Although injection molds and plastic molds are both molds, but there is a difference between them. Want to figure out the difference between the two, first and Xiaobian together to understand what is injection mold, what is plastic mold.
