The main role of hot runner

Hot runner (HRS) is also called hot water port, that is, the cured water port into a molten water port, its composition is relatively simple, mainly including manifold, hot nozzle, temperature controller, etc.. Among them, the manifold can be divided into work-shaped, X-shaped, Y-shaped, T-shaped, mouth-shaped and other special shapes according to the shape; hot nozzle can be divided into large spout, sharp nozzle, needle valve nozzle according to the shape; temperature controller can be divided into table core type, plug-in card type and computer centralized control type according to the temperature control mode.

In the injection molding process, the hot runner is used in conjunction with the mold and plays a very important role. For example, in the injection production of ultra-thin parts (such as cell phone battery cover), the use of hot runners can easily produce high-precision, high-quality products; for poor flow of injection materials (such as LCP), the use of hot runners can significantly improve the flow of raw materials to ensure smooth injection production; for some large injection parts, such as bumpers and door panels of automobiles, TV rear shells, air conditioning shells, etc. By using hot runner, the very difficult injection molding becomes relatively simple.

In multi-cavity injection molding, the lack of hot runner is simply impossible. It can be said that hot runner is the best technology to ensure the balance of the flow channel. No matter how well balanced the mold is geometrically, the weight of the molded product will not be uniform, especially for multi-cavity molds, because the outside of the molded product will be lighter than the inside if a hot runner is not used.

For plastic processors, using hot runners is quite economical as long as there is a certain volume of injection production. This is because hot runners help companies to eliminate water spouts in injection molding production. In most cases, the water spout is not likely to be reused. Sometimes, the weight of the water spout is almost the same as the weight of the product, and if the traditional water spout injection molding method is used, it means that as much raw material is wasted as the raw material used in the product. With this projection, 30% to 50% of raw materials can be saved with the use of hot runners.

In addition, hot runner helps to reduce the wear and tear of the mold and extend the life of the mold. In general, the service life of hot runner molds is twice as long as that of fine spout molds.

Although the composition of a hot runner is relatively simple, each of its components plays a very important role. Usually, good quality hot runner has high requirements on the design of structure and material. In the case of the first sharp hot runner, the heater and temperature-sensitive wire selected are all imported from South Korea, and the steel used is all imported from Japan, these are the prerequisites to ensure the quality of the hot runner.
